John has been at Prairie Isle for 8 years. He joined previous golf professional, George Jackson, in 1999 as George’s assistant and was being groomed to take over the head professional and general manager’s duties when George retired.

John completed the PGA’s education program in 2002 and received his PGA Class A card. He received a scholarship from Titleist for scoring the highest out of all the Illinois apprentices completing the PGA Golf Management Program.

John entered the golf business relatively late in his business career. After working as a professional photographer for 15 years, he found that his passion for sports and specifically, golf, was calling him.

He started out as an assistant at Bull Valley Golf Club in Woodstock from the fall of 1997 thru 1998. From there he moved directly to Prairie Isle and worked with Mr. Jackson for 2 years while studying to get his PGA card. In 2002, when Mr. Jackson retired, he was given the Head Professional and General Manager’s titles.

John would like to find more time to work on his own game and enter more local tournaments, but until then he is content on giving lessons, running the golf course and making the golfing experience at Prairie Isle a pleasant one.
